Anzac Day Bus

Anzac Day Hop-on Hop-off Bus

Overview

The ANZAC Fez Bus takes much same route as the normal Fez Hop On Hop Off bus but to spend the day at Gallipoli for the Dawn Service and other services it takes an extra day. The Fez hop-on hop-off bus (the Fez Bus) is Turkey's only hop-on hop-off bus network. It's a popular service pitched at budget travellers and backpackers, departing every destination several times a week in an anti-clockwise direction from Istanbul.

There are several passes to suit your itinerary, and each vary, however, this is a typical itinerary for the first three days on the Anzac Bus Pass:

Day 1

Tuesday 24th April

Gallipoli Peninsular

Welcome to Istanbul. We meet at the Fez office in Istanbul for an early morning departure to the WW1 battlefields of Gallipoli. Along the way we will stop for a meal break and a chance to stock up on supplies and rations to see you through the night and the following day. Once we arrive at the Gallipoli peninsula, we will collect our guide who will take us on a tour of the battlefields before we arrive at our final destination of Anzac Cove to secure a good spot on the grass for the long night ahead.

Day 2

Wednesday 25th April

ANZAC Day at Gallipoli

Awake before sunrise to the Anzac Dawn service and commemorate our fallen fore fathers on this special day. The Gallipoli battlefields are well sign posted so you can walk amidst the various cemeteries, trenches and memorials on your way to Lone Pine and Chunuk Bair to attend the Australian, Turkish and New Zealand memorial services. (Dawn service pass end here) Late afternoon you will meet up with the Fez Bus again to head back to Istanbul or continue down the Aegean coast towards Kusadasi or Selcuk.

Day 3

Thursday 26th April

Selcuk/Kusadasi

From here you have the choice of continuing with the Fez bus on the Silk Trail pass. Ask you consultant more about Hop On Hop Off itineraries, Gulets and other great add-on options for your pass.

Inclusions

  • English speaking onboard tour leader giving you tips and crucial info (no guiding)
  • Transportation in a fully air-conditioned, non-smoking coach
